Is the Building Standards Code online?
The Building Standards Code (CCR, Title 24) consists of eleven parts, and six parts are online. The six parts are authored by the state and are the property of the state. A significant amount of the other five parts are authored and copyrighted by model code writing bodies. California law directs the state to only reference the text of model codes unless the Commission and the governing body of the organization that publishes the model codes first reach a written agreement concerning the terms and conditions of publication. The terms of the agreement does not include online publication.

Notwithstanding the terms of the agreement, the Building Standards Code is available at depository libraries located throughout the state. A list of depository libraries is listed on this site. For the 2001 California Buildings Standards Code, the list is available on the web page: 2001 California Buildings Standards Code .
